- This Red Pepper blog was set up in September as a space to reflect on the meaning of Barack Obama's presidential candidacy for the global left.
Established shortly after Obama received the nomination as the Democratic Party's official candidate at their National Convention in Denver, the blog has covered his election campaign, November 4 victory and the early days of the transition. The blog consists of summaries and links to articles elsewhere on the web by - or considered of interest to - those on the left, as well as exclusive commentaries by writers, activists, academics and others.
The blog will run until Obama's inauguration on January 20.
