Cheney for McCain

By Ben Trott

Possibly one of the least sought after endorsements of this election came yesterday with current Vice President Dick Cheney’s words of support for John McCain. Cheney has one of the worst job approval ratings of a VP on record. Recent polls placed well over 70% of the population as having an ‘only fair’ or ‘poor’ opinion of him. (See Bush’s dismal approval ratings here; and in contrast, here is Colin Powell’s comparably favourable polling late last month around the time of his endorsement of Obama). Whether or not McCain is already so inextricably tied to the Bush administration’s policies that this endorsement is unable to do any further real damage remains to be seen.

Here’s the video of Cheney’s speech.
