After having been repeatedly propelled into the international media spot-light by comments made, first of all by Hillary Clinton during the primaries and later by John McCain and Sarah Palin, former Weather Underground member (and current Professor of Education at the University of Illinois) Bill Ayers has finally spoken out. Both in the following two interviews (1, 2) given to ABC News’ Good Morning America, as well as the following commentary written for In These Times, Ayers reflects on the role thrust upon him during the 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama, as well as the legacy of the 1960s.
